Hello,
I am using your program to download daily stock quotes from Google and Quote Media. My settings are "Update" in the "Time range" field. I store them in CSV format. Sometimes I need to modify the CSV file because I need to correct manually the data of different stocks, but after I do it, the YGQD reloads the data and writes in Status line (split or dividend). Is there any way I can prevent the YGQD from reloading the data?
Preventing the reload would also allow to append the data to other CSV files which were not created by YGQD.

Thank you

Hi,

This is the behavior when downloading adjusted data. I'm not sure if would make sense in your case, but you could set it up to download unadjusted data, which will leave past data unchanged.

Unfortunately, when I unmark "Dividend and split adjusted" it gives me an error "Unadjusted data is not supported by the QuoteMedia/Google data source plug-in".
I also noticed that it reloads the QuoteMedia data all the time, even without touching the CSV files. Is it only in my case impossible to update the Quote Media source or this is the way it works with this particular data source?

Last time I updated the QM plug-in, I had some problems getting the data, and I think that was the best I could do at the time. I should revisit the plug-in to see if there have been any changes in the way QM serves data, maybe it could be improved.

But your case suggests a new option to not adjust past data in update mode, even if there are inconsistencies.

Yes. I think it would be a great thing if you could add a button or an option "Do not reload" even if there is inconsistence between the current data and the data on the server.

By the way, I noticed that Yahoo database does not have many penny stocks.

MSN server does have penny stocks but does not work very well and gives lots of Errors 302, so it is not a good data source. It also takes a lot of time to download data from MSN.

Google does have penny stocks with a lot of incorrect or missing data. Thus it is not the best option for penny stocks as well.

It looks like the Quote Media is a very good source, because it has all the stocks including the penny stocks. The download works very fast too. The only problem is that YGQD reloads the data all the time.

You could be interested in an additional data source. Bloomberg.com allows downloading free Daily data and delayed streaming data. Wealth Lab recently released Bloomberg free static/streaming Daily data provider but it works slow because does not have multithreading. Here is the link for the Wealth Lab site.

It looks like it has all the stocks including the penny stocks. Would be a great option to add it to the YGQD arsenal.

Sorry for the delay.

I haven't made any progress on this. I am involved in other higher priority projects and I'm not sure when I will have time to work on this.
